I've spent 20 years in finance fundamentally understanding one thing: what drives value in a business and what destroys it quietly over time. The answer in this case, more often than people expect, is reactive maintenance and invisible asset degradation.

SurfaceGuard came out of a simple observation: the gap between what operators spend reacting to failures and what they would spend preventing and predicting them is enormous — and almost nobody in the field is systematically closing it. The opportunity exists. The problem is well-documented. What's been missing is a service built specifically around the operator's world: mobile, non-disruptive, and paired with data that actually travels with the asset, down to the interface level.
